On May 23, 2026, the re-election meeting of the Interventional Medicine Branch of the Sichuan Association for the Promotion of International Medical Exchange (referred to as the “Sichuan Medical Promotion Association”) was successfully concluded in Chengdu. Interventional medicine experts from major hospitals across the province gathered to witness the establishment of the new branch leadership. Professor Liao Zhengyin, leader of the Interventional Department of Chengdu Huanya Hospital, was successfully elected Vice President of the second Interventional Medicine Branch, thanks to his profound academic accomplishments and broad influence in the industry. This is a strong recognition of our hospital’s comprehensive strength in interventional medicine.

Professor Liao Zhengyin has worked in interventional diagnosis and treatment for many years, accumulating extensive experience in tumor intervention, vascular intervention, and comprehensive interventional therapy. He is especially skilled in minimally invasive interventional treatment for complex and difficult cases. He has always upheld a patient-centered approach, actively explored the frontiers of interventional technology, and participated in many academic exchanges at home and abroad, helping advanced technologies take root in Sichuan.
Regarding his election, Professor Liao Zhengyin said, “I am grateful for the trust of the Sichuan Medical Promotion Association and colleagues across the province. This is not only an honor, but also a weighty responsibility. Relying on the branch platform, I will actively promote standardized diagnosis and treatment, technology popularization, and the cultivation of young professionals in interventional medicine across our province. In particular, I hope to provide more technical support to primary-level hospitals and narrow regional gaps.”

As a key discipline under development at Chengdu Huanya Hospital, the Interventional Department, led by Professor Liao Zhengyin, has formed a diagnosis and treatment system characterized by precision and minimally invasive care. It completes thousands of interventional procedures each year and has earned a strong reputation among patients. The hospital will also fully support Professor Liao’s work in the branch, make use of the Sichuan Medical Promotion Association’s bridge for international exchange, select backbone staff for overseas training, and introduce more internationally advanced interventional technologies into clinical practice.
