Exploring New Paths in Cancer Treatment Through Comprehensive Therapy, and Safeguarding the Light of Life with Compassion

- A Conversation with Dr. Luo Jiamin, Deputy Director of Oncology Ward II, Chengdu Huanya Hospital

Deeply Engaged in Comprehensive Oncology Treatment, Developing Individualized Precision Plans for Cancer Patients Through Immunotherapy-Based Combination Strategies

In the field of comprehensive oncology treatment, there is a physician dedicated to organically integrating cutting-edge immunotherapy concepts with interventional treatment techniques, exploring better individualized treatment strategies for patients with advanced tumors. She previously worked in the Department of Oncology at the Army Medical Center of PLA (formerly Daping Hospital, Army Medical University), where she accumulated solid clinical experience on the platform of a national key clinical oncology specialty. She is Luo Jiamin, currently Deputy Director of Oncology Ward II at Chengdu Huanya Hospital.

Dr. Luo Jiamin graduated from Chongqing Medical University with a master’s degree in oncology. Over more than ten years of clinical practice, she has focused on chemotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy for solid tumors such as lung cancer, liver cancer and colorectal cancer. She consistently integrates standardized diagnosis and treatment concepts with individualized precision plans throughout every aspect of her clinical work, striving to provide high-quality, full-course management services for cancer patients.

In terms of oncology treatment philosophy, Dr. Luo Jiamin specializes in the application of immunotherapy combined with local therapy for advanced tumors. In clinical practice, she has thoroughly summarized the synergistic effects of immune checkpoint inhibitors combined with radiotherapy, interventional therapy and ablation therapy in refractory tumors such as lung cancer with liver metastasis and liver cancer. She is committed to effectively controlling tumors while maximizing preservation of organ function and quality of life.

Representative Academic Papers of Dr. Luo Jiamin

According to available records, Dr. Luo Jiamin actively summarizes scientific research achievements in addition to her clinical work. She has published multiple academic papers as first author, with research focused on lung cancer immunotherapy, interventional therapy for liver cancer and comprehensive oncology treatment. Her papers have appeared in Chinese core journals including Chinese Journal of Hepatology and Chongqing Medicine.

1. Luo Jiamin, Li Mengxia. Research progress on the application of immunotherapy combined with local therapy in lung cancer with liver metastasis. Chongqing Medicine, 2023, 52(15): 2362-2367.

Dr. Luo Jiamin was the first author. Published in Chongqing Medicine, a Chinese Science and Technology Core Journal, this paper systematically reviewed the clinical application progress of immune checkpoint inhibitors represented by PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors combined with local therapies such as radiotherapy, interventional therapy and ablation therapy in patients with lung cancer and liver metastasis. The article noted that although immunotherapy has improved the prognosis of patients with advanced lung cancer, patients with liver metastasis derive limited benefit. The synergistic strategy of immunotherapy combined with local therapy is expected to provide better treatment options for patients with this poor prognosis, offering a theoretical reference for the comprehensive treatment of lung cancer with liver metastasis.

2. Luo Jiamin, Luo Xiaoping, et al. Imaging manifestations and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization treatment of primary liver cancer patients with blood supply from the right renal capsular artery. Chinese Journal of Hepatology, 2015, 23(7).

Dr. Luo Jiamin was the first author. Published in Chinese Journal of Hepatology, a core journal supervised by the China Association for Science and Technology and sponsored by the Chinese Medical Association, this study retrospectively analyzed the clinical and imaging data of 23 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma supplied by the right renal capsular artery, and evaluated the efficacy, technical success rate and safety of TACE via the right renal capsular artery. The results showed that the technical success rate of TACE via RRCA was 100%, with an objective response rate of 56.5%, and cumulative survival rates at 6 months and 1 year of 82.6% and 52.2%, respectively. This indicated that superselective TACE for liver cancer supplied by RRCA has a high technical success rate, good safety and clear efficacy, providing important clinical evidence for interventional treatment of liver cancer with special blood supply sources.

3. Luo Jiamin, Luo Xiaoping, Liu Xi, et al. Analysis of factors influencing RIPA involvement in tumor blood supply during initial TACE treatment for primary liver cancer. Journal of Third Military Medical University, 2015, 37(13): 1388-1392.

Dr. Luo Jiamin was the first author. This paper explored the influencing factors and clinical significance of right inferior phrenic artery involvement in tumor blood supply during the first transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) treatment for patients with primary liver cancer, providing valuable clinical data analysis for comprehensive assessment of tumor-feeding vessels in interventional treatment of liver cancer.
